Software Notice

We perform many hours of lab and flight testing with each version. However, the lastest software release is not recommended for IFR flight until it has logged more flight hours by our customers.

With experimental software you should always do your own flight testing in VFR conditions until you are satisfied with the software's stability and functionality.

With each software load, we recommend the following:

General updates:
  • Synchronization and validation of configuration settings across subsystems
  • Remote FOB control of devices.
  • Power-on device 'flash' (ala car lights)

    VP-100 Software Updates

    This document outlines the existing feature sets for the VP-100
    Existing Features


    To update the firmware on the VP-100 Switch Panel and Control Unit, follow the three steps below. To update the VP-100 firmware, you will need a copy of the new firmware as well as a copy of the VP-100 Software Update Application which runs on your Windows PC and is used to download the firmware from the PC to the VP-100. This works with Windows XP and Vista only. Detailed instructions for downloading the firmware are in the VP-100 Installation Manual.

    Before you start, make sure you have the Java engine installed on your computer. If you are not sure whether it is installed on your computer, click here to download and install it (20MB file).

    Once the Java engine is downloaded and installed, follow these steps:

    STEP 1

    Install the correct VP-100 Software Update Application on your PC. Download the file to your PC and double-click it to install the latest version.

    If the VP-100 has this
    firmware version
    currently installed.
    Then you need this
    VP-100 Software Update Application
    to download new firmware.
    16.2 to current release 2.2
    14.3.g to 15.1 2.1

    STEP 2

    Select the VP-100 firmware that you want to download, and save it to c:\VerticalPower\vp100.

    STEP 3

    Follow the instructions in the VP-100 installation manual to Export your settings and Update the software.
